About me.A little bit about Melissa the human being: I'm from Texas but I've never owned a cowboy hat or an oversized belt buckle. I grew up in a suburb of Dallas called Mesquite and I used to think that Mesquite barbecue was named after my hometown instead of the wood used to smoke it. For longer than I'm proud of. But other than that I'm just a normal lady. I like to spend time with good friends and family. I love dogs and cats and I have two very distinct annoying voices for both of them. I get sad when vacation is over because I love being in new places. I love to read and write. I also love to binge watch Netflix though I wish I did more of the former. I live with my best friend and boyfriend, Adam and our fat cat, Alcey. I love music almost as much as I love theatre and I like it best when they can be combined. I love people, I love to hear stories, but most of all, I love to tell stories. And this is mine.

Where I've been.I grew up in Dallas, TX, acting from the age of 12. I studied at Oklahoma State University where I received my BA in Theatre with an emphasis on Acting and Directing. In the summers between semesters I acted professionally in Dallas and worked on several commercials as well as a feature film. Since graduating, I've moved to Florida and currently live downtown in Orlando, working most recently at Mad Cow Theatre, Osceola Arts, and Theatre Winter Haven.
Where I'm Going.I am currently the MIT at Anthropologie at Disney Springs. This year I plan to audition as much as possible, see as much theatre as I can, and make more contacts in Orlando. In the future I hope to move to New York with my boyfriend and continue my pursuit of acting and directing in both film and theatre. My goal in life is not to be rich or famous but to travel, to enjoy life, and to get really good at one or two things. (Though I wouldn't be opposed to fame and fortune.)
